Simple Miner is coming!

Today I have some really good news for the community. Simple Miner has been in development for months now and our trial has been getting great feedback, which means it is time to set it free.

Simple Miner will be releasing shortly after EVE's next patch on the 11th of November! This will allow us to patch Simple Miner one last time to ensure it is working fully at release. It may take us a couple days to prepare for launch after the patch, so we will update the community on our website at www.simpleminer.com as well as on this blog when we are ready. It will be available for $29.99 and you will be able to purchase it using Paypal andsoon Webmoney.

Thanks for waiting for us to perfect this tool and we hope you all enjoy it very much!

Sincerely,
Andrew Carle "Felsin"

More Internal server errors

Hey everyone,
We are experiencing some internal server errors which may result in a down website for some users. We are going to be solving these issues by switching our host, which should occur within the next few days. Please let us know if these errors continue to persist for anyone.

Thanks,

Simple Miner Beta Launch!

Hello EVE Community,
Today Gold Harvest Macro Solutions has opened up the beta applications for our Simple Miner automated mining players tool for use with EVE Online. The application is available on our Gold Harvest Macro Solutions home page by logging in to your account and clicking the 'Beta Testing Application' link. Anyone accepted will get $5 off the retail version of the miner!

Simple Miner has been in development for a few months and this is the first version being shown to outsiders of GHMS. This project will continue to expand and become the most valuable players tool available, but we hope this initial version will still impress you. As as sign of continued progress we will be updating our website to include more recent screenshots of Simple Miner as well as a more updated description of the product and its features. I will announce to everyone on the homepage when this update is complete. Thanks for your interest in GHMS and our software. See you in space!

Purchase Gametime for ISK, legally

Are you having a hard time paying for your subscription to EVE because of the slowing economy? Well, there is an officially supported method for purchasing game time using only ISK. This allows dedicated players to keep their subscription open without dishing out any additional cash. I was informed of this by Marcus Eikenberry from Shattered Crystal, a very trusted supplier of game time cards and in-game ISK.

A video demonstrating exactly how to turn your ISK into game time is shown here. I hope this brings more notice to this officially supported method that helps out your fellow players and keeps you playing.

Development Update / Virus Fakeout

Hello EVE Community,
It has been an interesting week for Gold Harvest Macro solutions. We spent the week updating Simple Miner to prepare for its upcoming beta launch, which should begin within a couple weeks. Simple Trainer, our automated skill training macro, also had its retail launch this weekend. We were greeted with an unexpected obstacle when CCP, the creators of the fantastic MMORPG EVE Online, put out a bulletin incorrectly claiming that our software contained a Trojan Virus and would steal your account information.

This announcement was not a lie on CCP's part, but it was a false positive Trojan warning caused by a file known as "upx.exe" as well as well as by the programming language Autohotkey itself. We renamed the file upx.exe, which is responsible for compressing files, and most of the errors should be gone. A full explanation of the warning can be found on our homepage at www.goldharvestmacrosolutions.com. A host of other websites picked up on the story and James Egen even created an entertaining picture for the story, found at massively.com.

This warning is rare and was not picked up by our development team during Beta; that is a mistake on our part and I apologize. We are working to ensure these errors go away altogether and you can help by reporting any warning you receive to your virus detection company. We will of course continue to update the community with any additional information on these errors.

In better news, Simple Trainer has been receiving great feedback and we have had zero reports of missed skill training or any other major error. We officially launched our first eBay listing for Simple Trainer and the trainer is also available on many download sites such as eurodownloads.com. This smooth launch will allow us to focus most of our development on adding additional features and options for Simple Trainer and preparing Simple Miner for Beta launch. Did I say Simple Miner Beta Launch??!!

Simple Miner Beta and Update:

Simple Miner has been receiving large updates internally and we are about ready to start the Beta! We are very excited about this and we hope you will all be very impressed. We will announce the Beta officially on the homepage which will include a link to the beta submission form. We expect the Beta to begin in a few weeks and last until our retail launch soon.

The miner was recently updated to include detailed statistics on your mining runs including: Average profit per hour, profit per day, total working time, amount of rounds, average round duration, best round duration, npc attacks, npc's killed, as well as your overal profit. These statistics can be uploaded to our servers where we will keep an updated record on how well the miner is running. The GUI for these statistics is shown below:
The entire miner code is being extensively tested and we feel almost ready to show it off. The feature list for Simple Miner's version 1.0 release is almost complete and we are currently working on improved drone control as well as overall stability of the code. Once we release the Beta we will prepare for version 2.0, which we hope will include cargo delivery to other systems, multiple client use, Jet can mining, and more! We received great feedback from the polls of the front page so we will be switching these polls to gather even more information.

That is about all for the development update today. Stay tuned to this blog for more updates on our products and be prepared for the Simple Miner Beta coming soon!

Why Macro?

Here are my top lucky 7 reasons for macroing. Feel free to add your top reason to the comment list!

1. Mining is boring.
2. Macroing gives you more ore and isk than you can ever achieve by yourself in a 24 hour period.
3. I believe the focus of EVE should be the politics and the PVP not the mining.
4. Top corporations are macroing and you are falling behind if you are not mining often.
5. It is undetectable.
6. Macros are extremely reliable and will not fall asleep at 4 am.
7. Macroing allows me to make isk while not at the computer, period.

Simple Miner Development Update

I was recently having an ICQ discussion with one of our great programmers, Vyacheslav "Slav", about the newest internal version of Simple Miner and how efficient it was becoming. I was so impressed with the progress of the version that I decided to write a developer blog to show you how well the macro is coming along. Simple Miner is still well under development so all of this is subject to change..

The first thing you will notice about Simple Miner is how easy and simple the GUI is, shown below.

The GUI at first appears to not have all the features you would need. The difference between Simple Miner and past macros I have programmed with (OCR/AI Macro) is that Simple Miner is able to make many of the decisions on its own instead of needing you to input the information. Some good examples of this are no longer needing users to tell us if they use a trial account, no more need to tell us when your downtime occurs, no setup requirements past your desktop resolution and much more. Many of the options on this GUI are optional as well and are only there to further perfect your mining cycles.

We recently added the second tab you see on the GUI, which controls our drone and defense systems - a system we have never programmed before. This allows SM to use your defense drones, active tanking and passive tanking to defend against NPC threats. It also allows the user to select when they would like to being attacking and when it is time to call it quits. We have been testing this internally for a few days now and it appears to be working as planned. The GUI for the fighter features is shown below.

The third tab is used for developer purposes and gives us accurate output from the macro runs. Users can select which sections of the code to monitor and send these reports in with bug reports.

With the recent updates to the internal version, Simple Miner is running much more smooth. The macro is successfully using bookmarks or random selection to mine any amount and type of asteroid you please. It is already the most stable and efficient mining macro I have worked on and I cannot wait to see what we can develop for it next. I wish I could give you more details in this update, but those will have to wait a few days longer.

The fighter system is just one example of the advanced features we are currently coding for Simple Miner and I will upload a video of this feature, as well as a few more, very soon. We have many plans for the development of Simple Miner and we are even discussing multi client use, jet can mining, and more. For now, we are focusing on testing all of our features and coding in any additional features we feel are necessary before our first release. Once all features are added we will be polishing the internal version before holding a beta and eventually a trial version before launch. Stay tuned to www.simpleminer.com for more developer updates.
